Check out my first ever kinetic typography video!
This is the finished product of the first ever video I have made using After Effects CS6 and typography for my CyberARTS Tech culminating. This animation is based on how "everyone comes into your life for a reason." Some people might stay while others leave, although they all bring a specific purpose. The video was meant to be very calm and hopeful with the factor of serendipity.
The process of making this video was quite time consuming and difficult at times. This is because I had never used Adobe After Effects before and am still learning. To create this animation, first off I had to write some of my thoughts to get a topic for the video. We spent a few days putting together a paragraph that we could then animate. First I created different compositions to put my words on. Then I took parts of my paragraph and put those wherever I wanted too which was not too difficult. Next came when I had to animate the text. Animating the text was not too bad but I had to make sure the timing was alright. I decided I wanted the transitions to reflect what the writing said. Next I had to put the audio in of me speaking the words. This part was the hardest because it took the most time to get the words and audio to flow together in sync.
Not too much was changed about my animation a part from the length of it. Due to shortage of time, I had to cut the paragraph I wrote for the assignment quite a bit. I only chose to keep a series of lines that I thought were very impact-full or meant something to me and others. Although the transitions and everything were still the same because I stuck to my original ideas.
Overall, I think my video turned out pretty well for having used After Effects CS6 for the first time. Working on this Kinetic Topography assignment was a great experience. I feel like I have learned a lot, and will be able to use After Effects CS6 again in the future if i needed to.

The goal of the poster was to create something that would promote my video. Although the poster couldn't use pictures and had to be made of typography as well. I chose to use two meaningful lines from my video that I thought would impact people. Then I arranged the two sentences in a way that stuck out to me. Underneath the writing there is a path with low opacity and words on it. The words all say "reason." Then it leads to the shape of a flying dove symbolizing hope. The dove is filled and outlined with typography. The whole point I was trying to make was that there is a path in life, filled with people and reasons for them being there. The path only leads to hope which is outlined in black typography making it bold and significant.
